Art does not belong in a museum, it belongs in your life.

Bring a masterpiece into your home with this tapestry!

New tapestry

Tapestries bring inspiration, class and comfort to a room. They have a long tradition in art history.
The great artistic geniuses of the Baroque era left behind works of art that remain timeless and fascinating in their own way.
"New Tapestry" brings the energy of iconic master tapestries into the present of your home.

What exactly are New Tapestries?

  • Flexible companions

The tapestries are casual companions to inspire your everyday life with art. They are light, mobile and timeless.

  • Made by master weavers in Europe

Lake Como in northern Italy is a traditional centre for textile art.
The tapestries are made exclusively for Baroqueblockbuster in a manufactory where Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Prada also have their fabrics machine-woven.

  • Sustainable product

The tapestries are produced with recycled yarn out of a sense of responsibility. The colours remain stable even when exposed to sunlight in your home.

  • Small piece of great art history

Art connects us with the experience and vision of artists from the past.
The tapestries bring an essential detail from a large baroque tapestry into your home.

  • Conversation piece

Art in the Baroque period was there to spark conversation with friends and guests. The element of water appears frequently in the Baroque period and stands for pleasure in the garden context and for the unknown and fascinating in science.
The "Dolphin" and "Lobster" tapestries embody this attitude as a haven of peace, eye-catcher and conversation piece.

About Baroqueblockbuster

My name isn't actually ‘Baroqueblockbuster’, but Constantin Pelka. But because baroque has become such a passion and fascination of mine, many friends and acquaintances call me that or ‘baroque activist’.

What is baroque?

Baroque is all about emotion! The baroque style developed at the same time as theatre and aims to depict how our world feels.
The Baroque era came after the Renaissance. Many elements, such as the fascination with the ancient art of the Romans and Greeks, were taken up and creatively developed in the Baroque period.
Roughly speaking, the Baroque style can be said to take place between 1600 and 1800. What many people do not realise is that Baroque was the first art movement to spread throughout the entire world. In addition to Europe, Baroque can also be found in modern-day Turkey, South America and India, for example.

What does Baroqueblockbuster do?

My mission is to share the fascination of cultural heritage on social media. Since 2020, I have been travelling through Europe as a cultural ‘truffle pig’ in search of as yet unknown highlights of Baroque art and architecture.
I share the impressions of my cultural expeditions and cultural travel tips daily on my Instagram channel @baroqueblockbuster. Over 450,000 followers follow my baroque travels there.

Why are tapestries so special for me?

In order to capture the best light, I am often in baroque places very early. Anyone who has ever been alone with works of art by great masters can understand that art speaks to you more directly.
For me, this is the greatest luxury of my work. When I asked myself how I could share this special feeling with others, I came across the long tradition of tapestries. For a home, they are both a calming and inspiring eye-catcher.
